Team retreat in the Czech Republic

Out of the office, into the woods! For this year’s team retreat, we headed to the Czech Republic.
Our destination: the idyllically situated Barbora mountain lodge in Jablonec nad Nisou. Surrounded by nature and away from the everyday hustle, it was the perfect base for a weekend full of activities, shared experiences, and time together.
 

Cave Explorers and Summit Seekers

On Friday, it was time to switch to adventure mode. We set out on a hike around Sloup Rock Castle, exploring picturesque trails and the region’s fascinating caves in perfect weather. After a well-deserved lunch, we continued over rough and rocky terrain to our lodge.

Friendly Competition and True Mountain Lodge Spirit

Upon arrival, we were greeted not only by our hostess but also by two friendly cats and a playful dog, who quickly made us feel at home.

One thing became clear soon after we arrived: there was no chance of getting bored. In addition to the foosball room, the volleyball court and ping-pong table quickly became team favorites. Before long, the first friendly competitions were in full swing.

Amid all the action, there was also a special moment: the whole group came together to make music. With piano, guitar, and singing, we created one of those magical moments that gave us goosebumps and perfectly captured the spirit of the mountain lodge.

Cycling Adventure or Relaxing by the Lake

On Saturday, the group split up so that everyone could spend the day exactly as they liked:

• Cycling Group: Put their stamina to the test, pedaled their way through the hilly landscape, and enjoyed the freedom of exploring the area on two wheels.

• Lake Group: Took it easy, cooled off in the refreshing water, and settled in for a relaxed game of cards.

Barbecue, Football Fever, and Night Owls

In the evening, everyone came back together. We enjoyed the warm summer evening over a barbecue before gathering around the game table. A thrilling round of “Hitster” put our music knowledge to the test, and we guessed and sang our way through decades of music history.

The perfect finale? An exciting World Cup match featuring Germany, followed by a night hike under the stars.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend full of laughter, adventure, and unforgettable moments. What remains are tired legs, plenty of inside jokes, and one thing we know for sure:  we’re one hell of a team!
